Johnny Silverhand is a popular character in Cyberpunk 2077, but there are a few things about him that fans may already know.
Johnny Silverhand, who was played by Keanu Reeves, was a robotic rocker bad boy who won the hearts of Cyberpunk fans with his charm and clean past. Even though he is mean when he first shows up in Cyberpunk 2077, he finally gets along with the main character V and the player.
As the two characters work together on tasks and face the Corpo overlords of Night City, players learn more about Silverhand’s beliefs and goals, but not all of the interesting information is well-known to fans.In the main story of Cyberpunk, Johnny Silverhand’s past is only mentioned briefly. Fans can find bits of information that go into the lore more deeply, but most fans don’t know much about where Silverhand comes from or how he became the famous rebel rocker boy of 2077.

After the war, many American troops left the army or fought back against the corrupt government. Johnny was one of those soldiers. After he quit, he ran away to Night City, where he started the band Samurai. He left behind his real name, Robert John Lindre, and became known as Johnny Silverhand.
During the main quest line, he talks to V in the run-down hotel about this part of his life. Johnny talks quickly about his time in the army and how he lost both his best friend and his arm in the war. Johnny then gives V this claimed best friend’s dog tags as proof that he will always be loyal to V. Most players will have thought that Silverhand laying everything out on the table was honest and brought the two characters closer together. This isn’t true, though, and most players probably don’t even notice because the tags Silverhand gives to V are really his own. Even though they have the name Robert John Lindre, neither the players nor V know this.
False Flashbacks
During the main plot, the player is shown Johnny Silverhand’s past because his memories and V’s memories are linked because they share a consciousness. The player takes on the part of Johnny Silverhand in two flashback missions, the first in 2023 and the second in 2013. Most players will take these tasks at face value, thinking that they tell exactly what happened. But this isn’t true, and when the players look into it more, they can see that these events are very different from what really happened.
The first memory in Cyberpunk and Johnny’s entrance into the story are the ones that are most wrong. In fact, they are almost entirely wrong. Johnny Silverhand was on the team that attacked Arasaka in 2023, but he was never in charge. Morgan Blackhand, another Night City legend who comes up a lot in the game but is completely left out of Johnny’s flashback, played the part that Silverhand plays in the mission.
His True Demise
Johnny Silverhand’s death is probably the biggest lie the players are told. In fact, Johnny never made it back to the rooftop to fight Adam Smasher. He died the first time they met. This competition between Smasher and Silverhand is also played up in the story, but before this event, they didn’t really talk to each other much.
In the real story, Johnny also takes the place of Morgan Blackhand at this point. Blackhand and Smasher had been enemies for a long time, and it was actually these two who had the fight on the roof. In 2023, Smasher really didn’t care much about Johnny, and he killed the rocker boy easily before he could get to the roof.
Reasons For The Lies
In the second flashback, which happened in 2013, Johnny, Rogue, and Thompson went on a quest to save Alt Cunningham. This is mostly true. There is, however, a scene at the end of the task in which a very sad In a fit of anger over losing Alt, Johnny Silverhand hits Thompson. Silverhand tells V that this incident ruined their friendship and that they never worked together again. This is not true, though, because his voice can also be heard on the radio during the return to 2023.
Arasaka’s interference could be the main cause of these changes in Spacebar Clicker. Silverhand’s engram had been in Corpo’s hands for fifty years, so it’s likely that it had been changed in that time. After all, Arasaka is a shady and deceptive group, so it would make sense for them to hide or hide away some information. Alt Cunningham tells us later in the story what the other reason is for these changes. She says that what the players see is Johnny’s emotional version of the story, not the real truth. Johnny, like everyone else, leaves out some facts and tells lies about what he did in the past. He tells lies to both V and himself.
Even though Johnny Silverhand is a great character who forms a strong bond with V over the course of the Cyberpunk story, most fans don’t know much about his past. Even though he is a good friend and gives V and the players advice, he sometimes tells lies or has wrong information. In any case, these are things about the famous rocker boy that most people did not know.
